in the field of rushes
fluttering between effusus florets
crashing into stems
and off again

The taarup came the other day
topping rushes to make hay
where can the ringlets go
between the tussocks flew

Meristems geometrically laid flat
in a rushy field in the townland
where can the ringlets go
now that their field is turned to hay
